Gods Also Pamper!
The year 2022 was a year of hospital visits for me—chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. It all began in January and finally ended in September. Then, as if the universe wanted to compensate, October brought a gift. My brother sponsored a trip to Singapore for me. I celebrated my birthday, explored the city, and enjoyed every moment.
Just a few months later, in February 2023, something unexpected happened. A premier show of Mahalakshmi Path was scheduled in Mumbai. Sanjay Ji (Sanjay Roshan Talwar, a veteran Sahaja Yogi and the producer of the film that I had written) insisted that I attend. He even shared the contact details of Ruchi, a Sahaja Yogini in Mumbai, suggesting that I stay with her.
I called Ruchi, and as we spoke, I casually asked if she had ever visited the Ashtavinayak temples. To my surprise, she said that despite living in Mumbai for over two decades, she had never had the opportunity. And just like that, in a ten-minute conversation, we decided—we were going to visit the Ashtavinayaks together! I had initially planned to stay in Mumbai for a week, but this trip was about to turn into something much bigger.
I reached Mumbai in the afternoon, and by the evening, we were already on our way in a hired car, beginning our Ashtavinayak Darshan journey. In just two and a half days, we completed the darshan of all eight swayambhus!
(Shri Mataji had spoken about the Ashtavinayaks many times, and deep down, I always thought I would never be able to visit them. I had no travel companion, and I wasn’t exactly street-smart enough to venture out alone. In fact, despite being in Sahaja Yoga since 2002, I had never gathered the courage to attend an event where Shri Mataji was physically present. And so, I had missed the once-in-a-lifetime chance to have Her darshan.)
After our Ashtavinayak journey, Ruchi suggested extending my stay for another week so that we could visit Brahmapuri. I agreed—why not! In the meantime, I asked a Sahaja brother, Hasan Bhai, if he could take me to Nargol. Coincidentally, he was in Nargol at that very moment, yet he readily agreed to take me there again in two days. And so, off we went on a road trip to Nargol, where I finally saw the sacred Nirmal Tree—the very sacred spot where Shri Mataji opened the Sahasrara and thus discovered the method to amass realization: Sahaja Yoga! None of this had been planned. It was all happening by divine will.
Then, with Ruchi and a few other Sahaja Yogis, we set off for Brahmapuri. There, we had the golden opportunity to attend the Mahashivratri Puja. Everything was perfectly arranged, everything flowed smoothly, and it all felt so effortless.
As we made our way back from Brahmapuri, we visited a few other places of great Sahaja Yoga significance. One of them was Pune Pratisthan. I touched the very pillars of the building Shri Mataji had personally chosen and supervised during its construction.
So many blessings in just fourteen days—without even asking for them! I realized then that this was God’s way of pampering me, of comforting my soul after the difficult months of cancer treatment. A divine way of cheering me up.
Yes, the Gods truly know how to pamper their devotees!
